Entropy - Ubra7
A downloadable game for Windows
The game
Type of game: turnbased card game survival
Goal: survive the longest time possible and get the best score
Causes of death:
- Losing all your Health Points (called “Hull Integrity” in the game)
- Getting vacuumed by the Black Hole (called “Black Hole Shrink” in the game)
Controls:
- Right Mouse-Click: Discard
- Left Mouse-Click: everything else
Context: The Black Hole Ubra7 threatens to grow eternally, absorbing everything in its way. Your Entropy Hunter, the latest innovation in spaceships from the Company, can absorb Entropy and slow the expansion of the celestial body. The Company will grant you its considerable means according to your efficiency in the gathering of Entropy, which will increase based on your closeness to Ubra7, where falling in is easier. The fate of the galaxy is yours…

The rules:
Black Hole: The big central black bulb.
- Damage: It can inflict damage to the player character. The closer you are, the greater the damage.
- Shrink: after a certain number of turns (aka Black Hole Shrink number), it brings everything that is on the map 1 orbit closer (objects and player character included). The Black Hole Shrink number resets automatically and decreases by 1 at the end of each turn. Once it reaches 0, the map shrinks again, and so on.
- Destruction: Everything (including the player character) on the closest orbit of the Black Hole at the time of the Shrink will be destroyed. If the player gets destroyed, they are considered dead, and the game is lost.
- Entropy: it can give entropy points to the player. The closer you are, the greater the entropy points. (see Resources section for entropy points’ definition down below).

Player character: You play a spaceship revolving around a Black Hole.
- Movement: the spaceship can move following the 3 different orbits. On each of these concentric orbits are 6 bulbs (aka nodes). The spaceship can move from one node to the next, going forward. It can also go to the next node on another orbit, thus getting closer or farther from the Black Hole.
- Step: the spaceship only moves 1 step per turn (unless a punctual rule says otherwise).
Resources:
- Hull Integrity (aka Health Points): In percentage. It can increase or decrease. The player loses the game if this number comes down to zero.
- Acceleration: Number of times the player can move one step from a node to the next. It can increase, it will decrease at each turn when the spaceship moves one step. If this number comes down to zero, the spaceship can not move until this number is increased.
- Entropy: Number of points that allows the player to draw 1 card, every 10 points gathered. The points can be gathered each turn automatically from the Black Hole or through Cards. (see Cards section down below).
Cards:
The player can draw, play or discard them.
Discard: Deletes the card from the player's hand and, in return, gives them some entropy points.
Draw:
- Automatic: Happens automatically when the player fills their entropy bar. The bar can be filled with points by starting the turn on one of the orbits: the closer the orbit, the more entropy points gathered.
- By playing a card: some of the cards can give Entropy when played (in that case, it is written on the card).
- Limitation: No cards can be drawn if your hand is full! Instead, the player is offered double the entropy points gathered from the Black Hole's orbits to compensate.
Play: the player has 3 types of cards at their disposal to help them survive and gather as much Entropy as possible.
- Acceleration type: They give Acceleration.
- Station type: They can be placed on the nodes. Each of them has special uses specified on the card.
Tip: Hover over one that's already placed if you have forgotten its purpose! - Event type: Anything can happen with them. Read the card carefully.
